How to connect your Instagram account to LUME Hub (professional account)
Updated
Quick answer
To connect Instagram to LUME Hub, go to Automações → Conexões (Automations → Connections) and click “Conectar Instagram” (Connect Instagram), or click “Conectar Instagram (oficial)” in Cockpit Social. Sign in to Instagram and approve access. The account must be a professional account, Creator or Business. When it works, you see “Instagram conectado ✓”.
Connecting Instagram is the first step to using Cockpit Social, Instagram DM and comment automations, and scheduled posts in LUME Hub. It uses the official Instagram login, and you approve everything on Instagram's own screen. If you are new to the Presence app, start with the Presence app guide.
The Instagram screens currently show their labels in Portuguese, even with the app set to English. This guide quotes each label exactly as it appears, followed by its meaning.
What you need before you connect
- An Instagram professional account, either Creator or Business. Personal accounts can't connect. Not sure which one you have? Read what an Instagram professional account is.
- Your Instagram password, since you sign in on Instagram's screen.
- A plan with an app that uses Instagram: Cockpit Social, Automations, Sales (RADAR), CAPI AI, the Editorial calendar, Videos or LUME Cortex.
You don't need a Facebook Page. LUME Hub uses Instagram Login, not Facebook Login.
Step by step
- In LUME Hub, open the Presence app and, under the Automações (Automations) menu, click Conexões (Connections). Alternatively, in Cockpit Social, click "Conectar Instagram (oficial)" (Connect Instagram, official) or the small "Conectar oficial" button at the top.
- On the "Conectar Instagram" card, click the "Conectar Instagram" (Connect Instagram) button.
- LUME Hub opens Instagram's sign-in screen. Sign in to the account you want to connect.
- Review the permissions and approve them. LUME Hub asks to read your profile and insights, manage messages and comments, and publish content.
- Instagram sends you back to LUME Hub. You see "Instagram conectado ✓" (Instagram connected), and the card shows the account with the status "Conectada" (Connected).
- If you plan to use DM auto-replies, also turn this on in the Instagram app: Settings → Messages and story replies → Message controls → Allow access to messages.
If your plan includes Cockpit Social, the first data pull starts right away and the numbers appear within moments.
What changes once you're connected
- Cockpit Social reads followers, posts and reach straight from Instagram. See how to see your Instagram insights.
- Automations can answer DMs and comments with the rules you set up, as in auto-DM people who comment.
- The Publicações (Posts) screen publishes the posts you schedule for that account.
Connection status and reconnecting
In Conexões, each account shows a status: "Conectada" (Connected), "Expirada — reconecte" (Expired, reconnect), "Desconectada" (Disconnected) or "Incompleta — reconecte" (Incomplete, reconnect). To reconnect, click "Reconectar" (Reconnect) and sign in again. LUME Hub renews access daily, so you only need to reconnect when Instagram drops the connection, such as after a password change. When that happens, the Home screen shows "Instagram disconnected".
If the connection fails, the causes and fixes are in Instagram won't connect to LUME Hub.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to link Instagram to a Facebook Page?
No. LUME Hub uses Instagram's own login, not Facebook Login. What you do need is a professional account: Creator or Business.
Does the connection expire?
Instagram grants access for 60 days, but LUME Hub renews it on its own every day once 7 days or fewer are left. You only reconnect if Instagram revokes access, for example after a password change.
Will LUME Hub post anything without me?
No. Connecting only grants access. Posts go out when you schedule them from CAPI AI, Videos or the LUME Office, and automatic replies only fire from rules you create.
How do I disconnect Instagram?
In Automações → Conexões, click “Desconectar” (Disconnect) and confirm. Scheduled posts for that account are canceled; what is already published stays on Instagram, and your rules and history are kept.
