How to schedule LinkedIn posts from LUME Hub (text, image or link)
Updated
Quick answer
To schedule a LinkedIn post from LUME Hub, connect your profile under Presence → LinkedIn with “Conectar LinkedIn” (Connect LinkedIn). In “Novo post” (New post), pick text, image or link, write up to 3000 characters, click “Agendar” (Schedule), choose a date and time, then click “Agendar no LinkedIn”. It goes out on your personal profile on time.
The LinkedIn screen in the Presence app publishes and schedules posts on your personal LinkedIn profile without opening LinkedIn. You write in LUME Hub, choose now or later, and follow the queue. LinkedIn is part of the Growth and Complete plans.
This screen currently shows its labels in Portuguese, even with the app in English. Each label is quoted as it appears, followed by its meaning.
Connect LinkedIn
- Open Presence → LinkedIn.
- Click "Conectar LinkedIn" (Connect LinkedIn). The screen explains that you sign in with your LinkedIn account and authorize LUME Hub to post on your profile, and nothing goes out unless you send it.
- Sign in on LinkedIn's screen and approve.
The connection lasts 60 days and doesn't renew on its own, by LinkedIn's rules. When time is running out, the screen shows how many days are left and a "Conectar de novo" (Connect again) button.
Step by step: schedule a post
- Under "Novo post" (New post), pick the type: "Texto" (Text), "Imagem" (Image) or "Link".
- Write your text, up to 3000 characters. For image posts, text is optional.
- For an image post, click "Escolher imagem" (Choose image) and upload a JPG, PNG or GIF up to 8 MB. For a link post, paste the URL and, if you like, fill in "Título do link (opcional)" (Link title, optional).
- Choose "Publicar agora" (Publish now) or "Agendar" (Schedule). To schedule, pick a date and time between 2 minutes and 1 year ahead.
- Click "Publicar no LinkedIn" (Publish on LinkedIn) or "Agendar no LinkedIn" (Schedule on LinkedIn).
The post goes out on your personal profile, publicly. Nothing is published until you click.
Manage the queue
The "Posts" section has filters for "Agendados" (Scheduled), "Com erro" (Failed), "Publicados" (Published), "Cancelados" (Canceled) and "Todos" (All), and it refreshes itself every minute. On each post:
- "Publicar agora" (Publish now) sends a scheduled post early (on a failed post, it reads "Tentar de novo agora", Try again now);
- "Mudar horário" (Change time) moves the date and time;
- "Cancelar" (Cancel) removes the post from the queue;
- "Ver no LinkedIn" (View on LinkedIn) opens the published post.
LUME Hub checks the queue every 5 minutes and tries up to 3 times before marking a post as failed.
What you can't do yet
Post analytics (impressions, reach, reactions) and company pages depend on an approval from LinkedIn. LinkedIn doesn't open messages or connection requests to any app. To find clients on LinkedIn, see the Sales section.
Want to post on Threads too? See how to post on Threads from your computer. For the other screens, read the Presence app guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I post to a LinkedIn company page?
Not yet. Today LUME Hub posts only to your personal profile. Company pages and post analytics depend on an approval from LinkedIn, which is the next step.
How long does the LinkedIn connection last?
60 days, and LinkedIn doesn't allow automatic renewal. The screen warns you when 7 days are left. Click “Conectar de novo” (Connect again) for another 60 days.
What happens to scheduled posts if the connection expires?
They don't go out. The screen says the connection expired and that you need to reconnect for scheduled posts to publish. Once you reconnect, they're back in the queue.
Does LUME Hub send LinkedIn messages or connection requests?
No. LinkedIn doesn't open messages or connection requests to any app. LUME Hub only publishes posts on your profile.
