Quick answer

What is LUME Cortex?

LUME Cortex is LUME's short-form video editor for Macs with Apple silicon. It cuts pauses and adds captions and motion graphics on its own and, on the paid plans, schedules the video to Instagram through LUME Hub and uses AI to help you write. Every Hub account gets the free version, with a watermark and three videos a month.

Why it exists

If any of these sound familiar, the problem isn't you.

Cutting pause after pause and typing captions by hand takes longer than recording.

The video gets done in one app, the captions in another, and the scheduling in a third.

Pro editors are overkill when you just want to post this week's Reels.

Features

Everything you can do with LUME Cortex

Every feature below is live in LUME Hub today. The screens are illustrations with sample data.

1

Pauses cut and captions added for you

Cortex removes the silences from your video and adds captions, so all you do is review and tweak.

2

Scheduled to Instagram through the Hub

On the paid plans, the video goes straight to the schedule of the Instagram account connected to LUME Hub, with no downloading and re-uploading.

3

Motion graphics, transitions, and effects

Motion graphics are added automatically, even in the free version, and editing includes transitions, effects, and speed ramps.

4

AI to write your copy

On the paid plans, Cortex's AI helps you write the post caption and the on-screen text, with up to 100 requests a day.

5

One account for everything

You sign in with the same email and password as LUME Hub, and the app updates itself. The Agency plan edits videos for up to 10 brands.
