Daily checklist timer won't start: why and how to fix it

Updated

Quick answer

The Daily checklist timer won't start in three main cases: the date on screen isn't today (in Brasília time), another timer is already running, or the task was archived. Switch back to today, stop the running timer, or restore the task. Time you missed can still be logged by hand from the task's menu.

The Daily checklist timer follows a few rules that keep your daily record accurate. When the play button is grayed out or you see "Não foi possível iniciar" (Couldn't start), one of them is at work. Here are the causes, from most to least common.

The menu is in English, but the labels inside the checklist are in Portuguese; each one is quoted below with its meaning.

The date on screen isn't today

The timer only runs on today's date. If you picked another date in the calendar at the top, the screen marks it as an editable history record and the button says "Cronômetro disponível somente hoje" (Timer available only today).

Fix: pick today's date in the calendar. To record time for another day, use "Lançar tempo" (Log time) in the task's actions menu.

"Today" means Brasília time

The checklist's day follows Brasília time (Brazil). If you're in another time zone, or working close to midnight, the Hub's "today" may be a different day from your clock. Check the date shown at the top of the Meu dia (My day) tab.

Another timer is already running

Only one timer runs at a time. While one is active, the other tasks' buttons are grayed out. The "Cronômetro ativo" (Timer running) bar shows which task is being timed; if it says "em outra data" (on another date), the running timer belongs to a task from a different date than the one on screen.

Fix: click "Finalizar" (Stop) on the bar, then start the timer on the task you want.

The task was archived

Archived tasks leave the list and move to "Arquivadas neste dia" (Archived today). They can't be timed.

Fix: click "Restaurar" (Restore) on the archived task, then start the timer.

You're viewing someone else's checklist

When the LUME team or a mentor opens a client's checklist, the screen switches to review mode ("Detalhe diário", Daily detail), with no timer buttons. Only the account owner times their own tasks.

You see "Não foi possível iniciar"

The message includes a code with the reason: "timer_ja_ativo" (a timer is already running, maybe in another tab or device), "timer_somente_no_dia_atual" (the date isn't today) or "tarefa_arquivada" (the task is archived). Reload the page to see the current state and follow the fix for that cause above.

If the task doesn't exist for the day yet, create it first with "Adicionar tarefa" (Add task). For to-dos that aren't tied to a day, use the Tasks screen: see how to create and track tasks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I time a task from yesterday?

No. The timer only runs on today's date. To record time for another day, open that date, use the task's actions menu and choose “Lançar tempo” (Log time).

I left the timer running and walked away. How do I fix it?

Click “Finalizar” (Stop) on the running timer bar as soon as you notice. The timed period stays in the record; use the task's day note, under “Editar tarefa” (Edit task), to write down what happened.

Can I run two timers at once?

No. Only one timer runs at a time so the day's logged time stays accurate. Stop the current one before starting another.
