How to add and manage contacts in LAWD Mail and sync them to your phone

Where Contacts are
At mail.lawd.me, Contacts sit in the left app strip (the people icon, "Contatos") and in the "Apps" button, the nine dots at the top. The page has the "Novo contato" (New contact) button, the "Buscar contatos" (Search contacts) box and the list, with each person's photo or initials.
Step by step
- Open "Contatos" (Contacts) from the left strip or the "Apps" button.
- Click "Novo contato" (New contact).
- Fill in "Nome" (Name) and "E-mail" (for more than one, separate with commas). "Telefone" (Phone) and "Empresa" (Company) are optional.
- Click "Salvar" (Save). You'll see "Contato salvo." (Contact saved) and the person joins the list.
- To find someone, type in "Buscar contatos" (Search contacts): it searches name, email, phone and company.
- To email the person, click the envelope icon next to them: the compose window opens with the To field filled in.
- To change details, click the pencil ("Editar", Edit); to remove someone, click the trash can ("Apagar", Delete) and confirm.
Contacts as suggestions while you write
Once saved, a contact appears as a suggestion in the To and Cc fields of the compose window. Start typing the name or email and pick from the list. A contact needs a name or an email; with neither you'll see "Diga o nome ou o e-mail do contato." (Enter the contact's name or email).
Contacts on your phone
Contacts are stored on the LAWD Mail server, so they sync with the contacts app on iPhone or Android over CardDAV. Create an app password under "Usar no celular" (Use on your phone) and add the account as explained in how to set up LAWD Mail on iPhone, Android and Outlook. Frequently asked questions
Can a contact have more than one email?
Yes. In the “E-mail” field, separate addresses with commas. The list shows all of them, and the compose button uses the first one.
Are contacts added automatically when I send email?
No. Today you create each contact with “Novo contato” (New contact). Once saved, it shows up as a suggestion in the To and Cc fields.
Do contacts sync to my phone?
Yes. They're stored on the LAWD Mail server and sync over CardDAV with your phone's contacts app, using an app password.
Does deleting a contact delete their emails?
No. Only the contact leaves the list. Emails you exchanged with that person stay in your folders.
