How to use a custom domain or subdomain for your white-label client dashboard

Updated

Quick answer

Your brand's address can be a LUME Hub subdomain, like yourbrand.lumehub.me, or your own domain, like portal.yourcompany.com. The LUME team sets it up. For your own domain, you create an A record in your DNS, with no proxy, pointing to the address LUME gives you. Once DNS points there, the dashboard goes live on its own.

With your own address, clients sign in to the dashboard at your brand's address instead of LUME Hub's. The login page already shows your logo, and the invitation, the access link and your Play all use that address.

Your two address options

OptionExampleWho does what
LUME Hub subdomainyourbrand.lumehub.meLUME sets everything up
Custom domainportal.yourcompany.comLUME sets it up, and you add a record in your domain's DNS

The LUME team configures the subdomain when your plan is activated. The custom domain too: the dashboard has no field to change the address yourself, because it becomes a route on the server and gets a security certificate.

Step by step

  1. Choose the address: a LUME Hub subdomain or an address on your own domain, like portal.yourcompany.com.
  2. Contact the LUME team and tell them which address you want.
  3. For your own domain, sign in where you manage its DNS (your registrar or Cloudflare, for example).
  4. Create an A record with the address name (in the example, "portal") pointing to the IP address the LUME team gives you. Leave the record unproxied (on Cloudflare, "DNS only").
  5. Wait for DNS to propagate. As soon as the address points to the LUME Hub server, it goes live on its own, already with https.
  6. In the Console, open the Overview and check your clients' access link and the Abrir minha página inicial (Open my home page) shortcut, which now use the new address.

What uses your brand's address

  • Login: the sign-in page shows the name, logo and color you set in Marca e site (Brand and site).
  • Invitations and links: a new client's email invitation and the access link go to your brand's address.
  • Home page: if you turn on the home page in Marca e site, it opens at your address before sign-in. Without an address, it doesn't show.
  • Meu Play: your course area lives under /play at your brand's address.

When the address doesn't load

If the new address doesn't load, check in your DNS that the record is type A, points to the IP you were given and is unproxied. Until DNS propagates, the address may not open yet. If it still doesn't work, contact the LUME team.

Once the address is ready, make the dashboard yours: see how to white-label your dashboard, then how to add a client.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the domain myself from the dashboard?

No. The subdomain and custom domain are set by the LUME team, because the address becomes a route on the server and gets a security certificate. You only create the DNS record on your domain.

Which subdomain can I pick?

Between 3 and 40 letters, numbers or hyphens, with no hyphen at either end. Some names are reserved by the platform, such as www, app, admin, login, help and play.

Do I need a custom address to use Play and sales?

Your brand's Play lives at your brand's address under /play, so it needs a configured subdomain or domain. Without one, the Meu Play screen asks you to contact LUME.

What changes for my clients?

They sign in at your brand's address, with your logo on the login page. Invitations and the access link use that address too.

Can I use my website's main domain?

The simplest option is a separate address, like portal.yourcompany.com, so your website stays where it is. Agree on the address with the LUME team.
