How to sell courses, products and subscriptions with your Mercado Pago account
Updated
Quick answer
Open Sales in the Console. Under Mercado Pago account, paste the Public Key and Access Token from your application's production credentials and click Connect. Then click New product, choose one-off or subscription, set the price and what payment unlocks, save, and use Copy link to send the checkout link to your client.
On the Console's Sales screen, your brand sells to its clients with its own Mercado Pago account: one-off products, subscriptions and access to your Play. The money goes straight to you, with no commission, and payment unlocks the purchase automatically.
The Sales screen is translated into English, so the labels below match what you see. The Mercado Pago dashboard itself uses Portuguese names, shown with a translation.
Before you start
- Brand sales come with the white-label plans.
- You need your brand's Mercado Pago account in Brazil, with an application created under Suas integrações (Your integrations).
- To sell course access, create the courses or plans in your Play first. See how to create an online course in LUME Play.
Step by step
- In the Console, open Sales.
- Under Mercado Pago account, click Open the Mercado Pago dashboard. There, open Suas integrações, create or open an application and go to Credenciais de produção (Production credentials).
- Copy the Public Key and the Access Token, paste them into the Sales screen and click Connect. The screen now shows Connected, with the end of your Public Key.
- If you'll sell subscriptions, copy the address shown under Connected and paste it under Webhooks in your Mercado Pago app, with the Pagamentos (Payments) and Planos e assinaturas (Plans and subscriptions) events.
- Under Products, click New product.
- Pick the Type: One-off or Subscription (with Monthly or Yearly billing). Fill in the name, Description and Price (R$), starting at R$ 1.00.
- Under After payment, unlocks, choose Nothing, A course, A Play plan or, for one-off products, A link for delivery (starting with https://).
- Click Save, then Copy link on the product. Send the checkout link to your client.
What the buyer sees
The link opens a checkout page under your brand. Buyers sign in to their account before paying and are taken to Mercado Pago: one-off purchases with Pix, card or boleto; subscriptions with recurring billing. Once paid, the course, Play plan or delivery link is unlocked, and everything shows in My purchases, where they can also cancel a subscription.
Selling on your own website? On a one-off product, fill in Selling on your own site? Thank-you page address: the buyer pays without an account, and your page shows the delivery link after payment. A Copy code for the site button then appears on the product.
Track sales and subscribers
The same screen has two lists:
| List | Columns | Statuses |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | Date, Buyer, Product, Amount, Status | Pending, Approved, Declined, Refunded, Canceled |
| Subscribers | The same | Pending, Active, Paused, Canceled |
To stop selling without deleting, switch the product off (it shows Paused). Disconnect stops your checkout pages from taking payments until you connect again.
For the idea behind the Play, read what is a membership area. The rest of the Console is in the Console guide.
Frequently asked questions
Does LUME take a cut of my sales?
No. Sales use your brand's Mercado Pago account and the money goes straight into it, with no LUME commission. Mercado Pago's own fees follow your account's terms.
Where do I find the Mercado Pago Access Token?
In the Mercado Pago dashboard, under Suas integrações (Your integrations): create or open an application and go to Credenciais de produção (Production credentials). The Public Key and Access Token are there.
How can buyers pay?
For one-off purchases, Mercado Pago offers Pix, card and boleto. Monthly or yearly subscriptions are charged on a recurring basis by Mercado Pago.
How do I stop selling a product without deleting it?
Switch the product off: it becomes Paused and its checkout link stops. Deleting removes the product and the link stops working.
Where do buyers see what they bought?
In My purchases, in their account. That's where the delivery link, Play access and the option to cancel a subscription live.
