How to connect Instagram, Google and other social media accounts to LUME Hub

Updated

Quick answer

To connect your social media accounts to LUME Hub, open the account menu in the top-right corner, click Gerenciar minha conta (Manage my account) and find the Conexões (Connections) card. Next to each channel, click Conectar (Connect): LUME Hub opens that channel's screen, and you authorize access on the Instagram, Google, LinkedIn or Threads sign-in page.

LUME Hub apps publish and measure through your social media accounts, so one of your first steps is connecting Instagram, Google and the other channels in your plan. It all starts in one place: the Conexões (Connections) card on your account page.

Which accounts can you connect to LUME Hub?

ChannelWhat it's used for
InstagramPosts, metrics, DMs and automatic replies
GoogleSearch Console, Analytics and Business Profile
YouTubeYour channel and video metrics
LinkedInPublishing and tracking your profile
ThreadsPublishing and finding conversations

The card only lists channels your plan uses. Google, YouTube, LinkedIn and Threads come with the Growth plan and up; compare plans in LUME Hub plans compared.

Step by step

  1. Click your photo or name in the top-right corner and choose Gerenciar minha conta (Manage my account). This page still shows Portuguese labels when the app is set to English.
  2. Scroll to the Conexões (Connections) card, described as the accounts your apps use to publish and measure.
  3. Next to the channel, click Conectar (Connect). LUME Hub opens that channel's screen in the right app (for Instagram, that's the automations connection screen, Cockpit Social or LUME Cortex, depending on your plan).
  4. On the channel screen, use the connect button. You'll be taken to the Instagram, Google, LinkedIn or Threads sign-in page.
  5. Sign in to that account and approve the requested access.
  6. Back in LUME Hub, check that the Conexões card shows Conectado (Connected) with the account's handle or name.

What each status means

  • Conectado (Connected): all good. The Abrir (Open) button takes you to the channel screen.
  • Vence em X dias (Expires in X days): the authorization is about to end. Click Renovar (Renew).
  • Desconectou (Disconnected): the connection dropped and anything that depends on it stopped. Click Reconectar (Reconnect).
  • Não conectado (Not connected): the channel hasn't been linked yet. Click Conectar (Connect).

Dropped connections also show up at the top of the account page, under Precisa de atenção (Needs attention), and on Home, as explained in What you see on the LUME Hub home page.

Before you connect Instagram

Your Instagram account must be a professional account: Creator or Business. With a personal account, Instagram won't let LUME Hub read the profile and the connection fails. If you cancel the authorization halfway through, just click Conectar (Connect) again.

Details for each channel live in the Presence and Instagram automations sections.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't my Instagram connect?

Your Instagram account must be a professional account, either Creator or Business. Switch the account type in the Instagram app, then click Connect again.

Why doesn't a channel show up in the Connections card?

The card only lists channels your plan uses. If it says Nenhum canal para conectar no seu plano (No channels to connect on your plan), your plan doesn't include apps that use social accounts.

Do I need to reconnect from time to time?

Instagram renews itself as long as the connection is healthy. For other channels, LUME Hub warns you before the connection expires and shows a Renew button.

Can I disconnect an account?

Yes, on that channel's connection screen inside the Presence app. The Presence section of the Help Center shows where each one lives.
