What is the LUME Hub Files app and how does it work?

Updated

Quick answer

The LUME Hub Files app is your account's media library. It brings together, on one screen, the files saved by other apps: CAPI AI designs, Instagram media, editorial calendar scripts, Idea Bank attachments and reports. You can filter by type and source, search by name, and open or download any file.

The Files app is LUME Hub's media library: it brings together, on a single screen, the files your account keeps across several apps. Instead of hunting for a design in CAPI AI, a script in the calendar and a PDF in your reports, you open one place and find everything.

This screen still shows Portuguese labels when the app is set to English, so this article gives each label as it appears, followed by a translation.

What the Files app is for

Files answers one simple question: where did that file go? It lists, newest first, what your account created or received in the other apps. The subtitle on the screen sums it up: everything the account keeps, including designs, Instagram media, scripts, ideas and reports.

Use it to:

  • find a design or photo without remembering which screen you made it on;
  • download a file to send to a client, a print shop or a coworker;
  • open a PDF report from a past period;
  • jump straight to the source screen with the Ver no app (View in app) link.

Files is read-only. It doesn't upload, rename or delete anything. Each file still belongs to the app where it was created.

Where your files come from

Every file shows its source under its name. There are five sources:

Source on screenWhat it holdsSource app
Artes da CAPI IA (CAPI AI designs)Designs generated with AIContent
Mídias do Instagram (Instagram media)Photos and videos uploaded to post on InstagramPresence
Roteiros (Scripts)PDF, Word or text scripts attached to posts in the Editorial calendarContent
Banco de Ideias (Idea Bank)Photos, audio and attachments saved as ideasContent
Relatórios (Reports)Your account's PDF reportsResults

Two things are not included: videos from the Vídeos (Videos) module, which live in the account's Google Drive, and your personal LAWD Box files, which have their own help section at LAWD Box.

Files, LAWD Box or Google Drive?

They hold different things. Files shows what LUME Hub apps produce for your account, without you uploading anything. LAWD Box is your personal storage, where you upload, organize into folders and share files yourself. The account's Google Drive holds videos from the Videos module, with each version. When in doubt, start with Files: if a file was created by a LUME Hub app, it's here.

How to open the Files app

Click the nine dots at the top (the app launcher) and choose Arquivos (Files). The app also shows up in the side menu. The address is lumehub.me/dashboard/arquivos. To learn the launcher and search, see Getting started.

What's on the screen

  • Type filters: Todos (All), Imagens (Images), Vídeos (Videos) and Documentos (Documents).
  • Source: the Todas as origens (All sources) list appears when your account has files from more than one source.
  • Buscar pelo nome (Search by name): finds a file by part of its name, ignoring accents.
  • Counter: how many files the current filter shows.
  • File card: a thumbnail (for designs and Instagram media) or an icon, the name, the source, the date and the size.
  • Buttons: Abrir (Open, in a new tab), Baixar (Download) and Ver no app (View in app).

The name you see is the one you'll recognize: the internal code at the start is dropped, and unnamed reports and scripts get "Relatório" (Report) or "Roteiro" (Script) in front.

Who can see the Files app

The app is available to the account owner. The LUME team can see it too, and at an agency the owner who supervises a client sees that client's files. Team members of an account and guests who only approve videos don't have the app in their menu. Access rules live in the database, and links to private files work for 10 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload files to the Files app?

No. Files only shows what other apps have already saved. To add a file, use the app it belongs to, such as CAPI AI, the Editorial calendar or the Idea Bank. To store your own files, use LAWD Box.

Can I delete or rename a file in the Files app?

No. The app never deletes or renames anything. Every file has a Ver no app (View in app) link that takes you to the screen it came from, and that's where you manage it.

Do videos from the Videos module show up in Files?

No. Videos from the Videos module live in the account's Google Drive. If you have that module, the bottom of the Files screen has a shortcut that opens Videos.

Who can see my account's files?

The account owner, the LUME team and, at an agency, the owner who supervises that client. Team members and guests who only approve videos don't get the Files app.
