What is the LUME Hub Boards app: kanban, mind maps, whiteboard and brainstorm

Updated

Quick answer

Boards is the LUME Hub app for organizing ideas and tasks visually. It brings together Boards (Kanban), Trello-style boards; Mind map, which also draws funnels; Whiteboard, for freehand drawing; and Brainstorm, for expanding keywords into ideas. Everything saves automatically and is included in the Essential plan and up.

The Boards app is LUME Hub's visual workspace. It brings together four tools to get ideas out of your head and organize tasks: kanban, mind maps, a whiteboard and brainstorm. This guide explains what each does, when to use it and how to get started.

Who is the Boards app for?

Anyone who needs to organize projects, content and ideas without opening another tool: business owners planning the month, social media managers tracking production and teams splitting tasks. It all lives in the same Hub account, next to your calendar and sales.

What tools does Boards include?

Open the app launcher (the nine dots at the top) and choose Boards. The app menu shows:

ToolWhat it's forExport
Boards (Kanban)Projects in columns and cards, with labels, checklists, due dates and coversNo
Mind mapMind maps and funnels with screens, decisions and connectionsPNG, SVG and Markdown
WhiteboardFreehand drawing and writing, with shapes and a highlighterPNG
BrainstormExpanding a keyword into connected ideasNo

The app home page, Overview, has shortcuts to every tool your plan unlocks.

When should I use each tool?

What about the Idea Bank?

The Idea Bank stores loose ideas in folders, like a chat with yourself: text, audio, photos, video, links and documents. It appears in the Content app under Ideas, and text and links work even offline. See How to save content ideas in the Idea Bank.

How to get started

  1. Open Boards from the launcher.
  2. Choose Boards (Kanban) and create a workspace with Criar espaço (create workspace).
  3. Click Novo quadro (new board), pick the Produção de conteúdo (content production) template and click Criar quadro (create board).
  4. Add cards for your next tasks and drag them as they move forward.
  5. When you need to think a topic through, open Mind map and click Criar novo (create new).

How is a Boards kanban different from the Editorial calendar?

Both organize content, but they do different jobs:

Boards (Kanban)Editorial calendar
What it holdsFree-form cards with labels, checklists and due datesPosts with date, format, script, caption and hashtags
StagesWhatever columns you createThe 7 production stages, from script pending to scheduled
Client approvalNoYes, for scripts and videos
Link to publishingNoThe post is marked published when it goes out through the Hub

Use kanban for projects and general tasks, and the Editorial calendar when the goal is to publish.

What saves and what can be shared?

Every tool saves automatically after each change. Kanban boards can be shared with your Hub team as Leitor (viewer) or Editor. Mind maps and the whiteboard are personal and can't be shared. If you can't drag a card, see Why can't I move cards on my kanban board?.

For the editorial calendar and content approval, see the Content section.
