How to move around the island and change neighborhoods in LUME Land

In LUME Land, walk with the arrow keys or WASD, or by clicking the ground; on a phone, tap. To enter a place, click its door. To change neighborhoods, walk to the end of the sidewalk or open the map (M key or “🗺 Mapa”) and click a place. You can also take the bus, train, bike or car.
The LUME Land island is big, and each neighborhood is its own map. You walk, go through doors and cross from one neighborhood to the next along the sidewalk, through the map or by island transport. Controls work on computers and phones. The game is in Portuguese, so labels appear in quotes with their meaning. Step by step
- Walk. On a computer, use the arrow keys or WASD, or click the ground to go there. On a phone, tap the ground.
- Enter places. Click (or tap) a door to go in. To leave, go back through the door.
- Change neighborhoods on foot. Walk to the end of the sidewalk: you cross into the next neighborhood. Rua das Ideias and Rua da Vila cross the whole island.
- Use the map. Press M or click "🗺 Mapa" (Map). Drag to move around the map, use the mouse wheel, a pinch or + and − to zoom, and click a place to go there.
- Take transport when your destination is far away (see below).
- Check the commands. On a computer, press H or click "⌨ Comandos" (Commands) for the full list.
Getting around the island

Bus and train fares come out of your "Banco da Ilha" (Island Bank) account. Walking away from the stop or the tower cancels the wait. When you enter a place by car, the vehicle stays parked at the door.
Neighborhoods and places on the island
- Centro: home to Kaleo's barbershop.
- Vila Esperança, Jardim Primavera and Morro da Boa Vista: the other neighborhoods linked by the sidewalks.
- Porto (port): where the ferry docks and where Ilha Motors, the car dealer, is.
- Costa Dourada: south of Jardim Primavera, with Rádio Maré, Gaivota Records and the clothing shops on Rua das Grifes.
- Cidade Universitária: south of Centro, with the Colégio Municipal school.
Talking to people nearby
On a computer, press Enter to talk to whoever is nearby and Esc to close the chat box; click a resident to talk only to them. On a phone, use the 💬 button. Gestures live on keys 1 to 8 (0 to stop) or the 🎭 button.

How much do the bus and the train cost?
The island bus costs L$ 4.50 and the South Line train L$ 6.00. The fare comes out of your Banco da Ilha (Island Bank) account. The Bike Ilha bikes are free.
Why won't a door open?
