How to sync LAWD Calendar on iPhone and Android (CalDAV)
Updated
Quick answer
To sync LAWD Calendar with your phone, create an app password under “Usar no celular” (Use on your phone), then add a CalDAV account on the device with the server mail.lawd.me, your @lawd.me address as the username and that password. On iPhone it lives in Calendar settings; on Android, use a CalDAV sync app.
LAWD Calendar speaks CalDAV, the open calendar standard. With it, your phone's calendar app shows the same events as agenda.lawd.me, and what you create on one side appears on the other. You'll need an app password, a password just for the phone. The app is in Portuguese today, so labels appear with their meaning. To understand the standard, see what is CalDAV.
Before you start: create the app password
The app password lives in LAWD Mail, in the "Usar no celular" (Use on your phone) window. You can reach it two ways:
- on a computer, at mail.lawd.me, through the "Usar no celular" link at the bottom of the folder column;
- in any LAWD app, from your photo in the top corner: "Configurações da conta" (Account settings), then "Usar no celular (senha de app)" (Use on your phone, app password), in the "Espaço e celular" (Storage and phone) part.
Click "Gerar senha de app" (Create app password). The window shows your email, the password and the servers. Under "Agenda e contatos" (Calendar and contacts), the server is mail.lawd.me. The password is shown only once, so keep the window open until you finish on the phone.
Step by step
- Create the app password under "Usar no celular" and keep the window open.
- On iPhone: open Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Add Account > Other > Add CalDAV Account. On newer iOS versions, Calendar is under Settings > Apps.
- For Server, type mail.lawd.me. For User Name, your full address, such as you@lawd.me. For Password, paste the app password. Tap Next and save.
- On Android: the built-in calendar app can't add CalDAV on its own. Install a CalDAV sync app (such as DAVx⁵), choose to sign in with a URL and username, and use https://mail.lawd.me/dav/cal, your @lawd.me and the app password.
- Open your phone's calendar app and turn on the "LAWD Agenda" calendar if it isn't checked.
- Create a test event on the phone and check that it shows up at agenda.lawd.me.
If it doesn't sync
- Password rejected: make sure the username is your full @lawd.me address and the password is the app password, not your account password. If in doubt, create a new one.
- iPhone can't find the server: in the account's advanced settings, use the full address https://mail.lawd.me/dav/cal.
- Events take a while: phones check for changes every so often. Opening the calendar app usually pulls them right away.
What about contacts and email?
The same app password works for contacts (CardDAV, at https://mail.lawd.me/dav/card) and for email in your phone's mail app. Email setup is covered in the LAWD Mail section.

Frequently asked questions
What is the LAWD Calendar CalDAV address?
The server is mail.lawd.me. If the app asks for the full address, use https://mail.lawd.me/dav/cal. For contacts (CardDAV), use https://mail.lawd.me/dav/card.
Can I use my regular password in the phone app?
No. Phone apps use an app password created under “Usar no celular” (Use on your phone). It's shown only once, so copy it to your phone right away.
I lost my app password. What now?
Create a new one under “Usar no celular” and enter it on the device. You can create a separate password for each device.
Will events I create on my phone show up in the browser?
Yes. Events live on the LAWD server, so what you create in your phone's calendar app shows up at agenda.lawd.me, and the other way around.
